Rancho Santa Margarita

Rancho Santa Margarita is a master planned community started in 1986. One of the unique aspects of this community is the abundance of community pools and tennis courts. There is also a lake and swimming lagoon. The lake offers paddle boat and canoe rentals. There is a yearly 4th of July Fireworks display. The pools and tennis courts are scattered throughout the community. The monthly association fees are approximately $40.

Rancho offer Authentic Spanish style homes. Size and styles vary from one bedroom condominiums to executive style single family homes. Two public school districts service the community, Saddleback Valley Unified School District, home of the Trabuco Hills Mustangs and the Mission Viejo Diablos, and Capistrano Valley Unified School District, home of the Tesoro Titans. There are also private schools including Santa Margarita Catholic High School, St. John´s, and Serra Catholic Elementary.

Enjoy golf at the Tijeras Creek Public Golf Course. This lovely golf course offers majestic views of the Saddleback Valley Mountains and the rugged terrain of the local hillsides. Public parks and baseball fields abound. The local dog park is located adjacent to La Canada Park.

Rancho Santa Margarita is convenient to both the mountains and the beach. Big Bear Resort is only 1 ½ hours away. The beach is about ½ hour drive. Locals can snowboard on Saturday and surf on Sunday. There are a variety of restaurants and shops throughout the community. The Rancho Santa Margarita Public Library is centrally located, close to city hall and the Edwards Movie Theater. The 241 Toll Road connects Rancho Santa Margarita to the 405 and 5 Freeways.
